Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant is a course approved through the Virginia Board of Nursing which is a minimum of 120 hours. Nursing Assistant is designed on a 1 to 10 ratio of students to provide more of a 1 on 1 learning opportunity. This will ensure you will gain the knowledge and skills to be able to care for those whose lives depend on others to meet their daily needs. There are many opportunities for certified nurse aides today. The areas of employment include long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health agencies, clinics and Doctor’s offices. Success in this class will provide you with both the knowledge and practical skills required to be successful on the national exam as well as provide you with the skills to become a valuable employee in a long-term care facility, hospital, or home-health agency. The course runs up to eight (8) weeks.

Nurse Aide Refresher

We can get you on track, we have a course designed to provide individuals with a review of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be demonstrated on the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) Examination. 12 hours of practice time. 

Medication Aide 68-hour

The Medication Aide program is a course approved through the Virginia Board of Nursing which is a minimum of 68 hours. Medication Aide is designed on a 1 to 10 ratio of students to provide more of a 1 on 1 learning opportunity. Upon completion of this course you will be able to complete the following tasks:

1. Preparing for safe administration of medications to clients in assisted living facilities;

2. Maintaining aseptic conditions;

3. Understanding of basic pharmacology;

4. Facilitating client self-administration or assisting with medication administration;

5. Following proper procedure for preparing, administering, and maintaining medications; and

6. Following appropriate procedures for documentation and reporting to the licensed healthcare professional on duty at the facility or to the client’s prescribed.

This course runs up to four (4) weeks. ******* you must hold a 40 hour direct care certificate in order to sign up for this training or have a nurse aide certificate

Medication Aide Refresher 

 Update your skills with Medication Aide Refresher or renew your current license. (8 hrs combination of hands on verses lecture) Must have a current medication aide certification/license. Must be an active medication aide.

Medication Aide 32 Hour Training

 The curriculum approved by the Virginia Geriatric Education Center (VGEC) and Virginia Board of Nursing, this 32 hours Medication Management Training Program will prepare students to assist with self-administration of medications in Child Day Care Centers, Mental Health Facilities, Group Homes for Child/Youth/Teens (CRF), Juvenile Justice/Corrections Facilities and Adult Homes/Day Centers (ADCC) licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensing. 

Personal Care Aide

The Personal Care Aide training is a 40-hour program approved by Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). Topic areas include the following

1. Common principles of health and disease

2. Communication

3. Safety measures

4. Rights of clients living either in their homes or in facilities

Students will have a understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the personal care aide, the health care team, policies and procedures, infection control, proper nutrition, home management, and the importance of caring for themselves. 


American Heart Association BLS provided for  Health Care Providers

Red Cross approved training First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) training and certification meets the needs of workplace responders, professional rescuers school staffs, professional responders and healthcare providers, as well as the general public. 4 hour training for certification.
